Use the search interface to search the entire database of old, rare and out-of-print Scottish Books for sale. Enter words or names to search for in the appropriate fields.

 

How to use the Book Search

 

Category

Select 'All Categories' or a specific category from the drop down list of categories above.

Title, Author, Publisher/Date, Subject(s)

Enter a single word or combination of search criteria using AND / OR.

  • Searching in Title: Robert AND Burns
  • Searching in Keyword(s): enter a keyword which might relate to a particular topic you are interested in. This will enable books to be located where the subject matter is not obvious from the book title. e.g. entering the word keyword covenanter here would locate the title "Gleanings from the Mountains"

How to use the Map Search

 

Category
Select 'All Categories' or a specific category from the drop down list of categories above.

County
Select 'All Counties' or a specific County from the drop down list of Counties above.

Title, Cartographer, Publisher/Date, Keyword
Enter a single word or combination of search criteria using AND / OR.

Searching by Keyword
Enter a keyword here which might refine your search. This will enable maps to be found more easily if the title is in Latin or a foreign language. e.g. the keyword Kirkcudbright would select the map titled Gallovidiae Pars Media.
